Statement of Faith

We believe ...

The Bible, consisting of both the Old and New Testaments, is the word of God, written down by men of God through divine inspiration, and as such is the infallible revelation of His will, and the final authority on all matters on which it bears, as relevant today as when it was written.

There is one God, who is without beginning or end, beyond human comprehension yet revealed through His word, who exists as three unique yet equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the sole creator of heaven and all the known and unknown universe and all that is within them.

The Son came to earth incarnate in Jesus Christ, who was equally both man and God, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin according to prophesy, lived and experienced temptation but remained perfect and righteous, suffered and died of His own free will on the cross as the ultimate and final atonement for our sins, became the only means of salvation from the eternal separation from God, was raised from the dead and ascended into heaven, and will return again one day.

The Holy Spirit was sent to be with mankind to draw us towards God, convict us of our sins, compell us to seek and receive God's forgiveness, and to extend spiritual gifts to the church and empower its growth and service.

Mankind was created in the image of God, free from sin, but through our own free will chose to disobey Him and brought corruption and death upon creation. All humans are born into sin and a spirit of rebellion, and may be saved only with God's grace, through repentence and acceptance of Christ's atonement. Every person, except those alive when Christ returns, will experience death and resurrection, and all will be judged, and those that are saved will enjoy eternity with God.

The church is the community of those who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, independent of specific doctrines and denominations, called to continue the ministry of Jesus on earth by sharing the Gospel and showing Christ-like love for others by meeting their spiritual, physical, and emotional needs.
